Making A Difference in California
"I received a phone call from a man in Vallejo yesterday. He is a retired high school teacher. He said he was just calling to say thank for the letter. He had not heard of Ron Paul, and after reading my letter, he did his own research. He says he is now 'sold' on Ron Paul. What a blessing this was after sending out 300 letters. Thanks again, Diane"

Incredible Responses from Around the Country!
I have to admit I was pretty worried about sending my phone number and email out and asking people to let me know what they thought about Ron Paul. My family has sent out more than a thousand letters now to 5 states and I have gotten three emails (in return) ... all very positive. It was great to be able to help answer some questions and give them links to learn more. Two have emailed me several times. Here are some excerpts:
"I will be going to the polls this Saturday. I am very impressed with Ron Paul's stand on all issues I have studied. I love his stand on illegal immigrants!!!!"
"Hi- I am a praying patriot that got your letter today. I have been so disturbed at the number of candidates running for president that should not even be free citizens in America for their crimes against their state and their country! Our family has 5 adult votes and 2 have already voted as they will be working the polls for the next 2 Sat. for the primaries here in SC. We have no confidence in any of the news media on TV and most major newspapers so we get our news online and are watching Duncan Hunter and Ron Paul. They are the 2 main choices. The fact that the media totally omits [them] from all their publications and broadcasts is the clearest & loudest message they could give the public that they are opposed to them!!"
"Subject: STOP SENDING RON PAUL STUFF ...
... because you’re wasting your time. I’m already voting for him!
I was introduced to Ron Paul in August of last year. I had never heard of him before. I was completely politically apathetic before. I changed from Independent to Republican specifically to vote for Ron Paul. Even if he doesn’t win the nomination, he has inspired me to pay attention to politics and demand better from our elected representatives. I now know what I want (and don’t want) from our government. And it’s not very complicated. Just follow the Constitution. It’s really pretty simple.
I applaud your effort to help spread Dr. Paul’s message. I have been somewhat active locally and will canvass my precinct this Friday in preparation for FL’s primary next Tuesday. I have been e-mailing my friends and family, trying to overcome the media’s portrayal of him. I easily convinced my grandfather, a WWII vet. He and my grandmother voted for him. At least 6 of the 7 employees at our office are voting for him. Quite a few others I know will vote for him also. For anyone who’s done their homework, how can they vote for anyone else? Unfortunately, I don’t expect a win in FL (let’s hope I’m wrong!), but we can hope for a good showing heading into Super Tuesday. Thanks for writing."
Hope this encourages more letter writing! Susan

More Positive Feedback from NY!
Thanks for writing to Patti M. in New York State. I work with her and have been discussing Dr. Paul in the office for months, sent YouTube videos, etc. I don't know that your letter convinced her but I do know she was impressed with the fact it was a real letter from a real human, not generated by a computer. Hopefully this all will sink in. We only have two weeks.
Thank you.

A Michigan Success Story.
"I sent out another 158 letters to Michigan, and just yesterday I received a telephone call from a man who left a message on my answering machine asking if this was the number to call to donate to Ron Paul. What a thrill! It's very gratifying to know that I was able to move at least one person to not only support Dr. Paul but to also want to send him money."

A Ron Paul Letter Writer Received This E-mail ...
Just a little feedback, that I did receive your letter of 12-18-2007 encouraging me to go vote for Ron Paul in the Iowa caucus, and that I did. Maybe that didn’t work out too well for Ron, but I think it’s important to know that your efforts and letters do make a difference.
Cheers!

"My son is canvassing in Iowa. He knocked on a door and the person said that they had just received a letter from someone in Arizona and he had some questions ... 30 minutes later, he had himself a convert ... Please help with this, it really does work and makes the job of our boots in Iowa all that more effective."

WaPo Notices Ron Paul Letter Campaign, by Lew Rockwell Blog
"I can attest to the fact that this stuff is actually happening. A couple of weekends ago I participated in a letter-writing campaign with members of the Pittsburgh Ron Paul Meetup group. ... We sent out 420 letters that day--not bad for 12 people over the course of about 3 hours."

Ron Paul, a Write-In Candidate, by Washington Post
"In a move reminiscent of former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean's 2003 grassroots letter-writing campaign to Iowans, Kramer -- a registered nurse from Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin, just across the Iowa border -- is one of scores of people who have been mailing handwritten letters to Iowans on behalf of Ron Paul."
